2007 CNET Networks Awards - open for entries

Entries for the prestigious CNET Networks UK Technology Awards are now open, with the call going out to the best and brightest across UK technology.

Last year's event was the most successful yet, and winning an award has become one of the most sought-after accolades in the UK technology industry.

There are award categories for suppliers and users who want to showcase their advances and innovations at the awards, brought to you by the parent company of silicon.com.

Worthy of special mention this year is the introduction of the Green IT Initiative of the Year award, reflecting increasing environmental concerns within the industry and the positive role IT can play in protecting the environment.

The final closing date for nominations is 31 May, 17:00(GMT) with the winners being announced at a gala dinner to be held at the London Hilton Park Lane on 24 September.

There are awards for technology products and services, across hardware, software and networking with a focus on hot areas such as mobility, security and innovation around the internet.

Areas such as marketing and PR also get a nod, and as usual we will be keenly looking forward to singling out the UK CIO of the Year as well as the Outstanding Contribution to the UK Technology Industry.
