Financial news agency Reuters is set to save £1.2m in document costs following the implementation of a management strategy with Xerox.

Xerox will revamp the company's print infrastructure in the UK and consolidate 12 of its London offices' print systems into four main centres, including its headquarters at Canary Warf.

According to Xerox, Reuters will make a cost of ownership saving of 19 per cent per year.

Reuters' print infrastructure comprises more than 1,400 printers and similar function devices from 200 different suppliers. This will be consolidated to Xerox-only flavour machines, managed on site by an eight-strong Xerox team.

Reuters facilities management sourcing manager, Nigel Smith, said in a statement: "All our systems work, availability is at an all-time high and everything is taken care of for us. What's more, we have a clear understanding of exactly what we are spending and saving - and where."
