Lloyds TSB has officially confirmed Mark Fisher as its new group head of IT and operations.

Fisher comes to the role from a job as executive director at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). However, he's currently on secondment to ABN AMRO as chief exec responsible for integrating the Dutch bank after RBS acquired it late last year.

Fisher has spent his career in the financial services sector, joining NatWest in the early 1980s and working his way up to finance director and later COO.

He later moved to RBS as head of its manufacturing division and has been a director of the bank since 2006.

Fisher will take up the position as Lloyds' IT and operations head in the new year although a start date has yet to be confirmed.

He will fill the role vacated by Chris Wiscarson, who will move to a new job as Lloyds' group integration director, following the completion of its planned purchase of HBOS.
