High tech branch surfaces

The top floor is devoted to Barclays Premium Account customers. As well as another bank of video screens, the floor has a seated area around a number of tables fitted with Microsoft Surface devices.
The tables provide a large touch-sensitive screen in which users can manipulate icons and images by dragging, tapping and rotating them. According to the Barclays spokeswoman, this is the first European commercial use of the technology.
The spokeswoman said that traditionally this sort of area would have coffee tables with leaflets about the bank's services. Now, the table is the leaflet.
Customers can browse through Premium services and benefits on the table, or have them explained by a member of staff, who can employ the tables as demonstration tools.
