This position will allow you to prove your great customer service skills, proving you are comfortable in solving and exceeding customer expectations. As a System Administrator you will be involved in: - Proactively monitoring customer issues - Ensuring all issues / phone calls are handled within agreed timeframes - Escalating problems if needed - Serving as an escalation point for lower level support technicians - Participating in a rotating on-call schedule as a senior member of customer operations To succeed as a System Administrator you will be degree educated (or equivalent) or have experience in an IT organisation where you will have delivered level 2/3 support to complex Windows web based environments. With your experience of supporting/administrating within Windows server environments, you must also be MCP qualified. Preferably you will be MCSA or MCSE qualified, but if not our client will support you to obtain this. You must also have the following technical skills: - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL 2000/2005 - Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of IIS Web server including FTP, HTTP/S and IIS SMTP - Terminal Services - Internet technologies and concepts, such as TCP/IP, DNS and Mail - Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers As a System Administrator you will be a strong team player with the ability to communicate with confidence and conviction. Taking responsibility for the timely resolution of problems, you will also be able to multitask and you will take a focused approach to your work. Knowledge of ASP, ASP.Net and/or Windows 2008 would be beneficial to our client, but not essential.
