As a ‘Racker’ in this role, the successful candidate can expect to enjoy some of the following challenges on a daily basis: -Troubleshoots and resolves system service issues and OS level issues, including issues escalated from level I & II administrators. -Resolves monitoring alerts and create tickets accordingly. -Handles level-appropriate customer support requests via the ticket system. -Escalates support requests (phone/ticket) according to escalation procedures. -Schedules and coordinates level-appropriate maintenance. -Creates and maintains customer loyalty by exceeding their expectations. -Responds to calls made to the support team. Experience and Skills required to succeed in the role: - You must have a degree or at least 3 years work experience equivalent -Experience of working in the Rackspace environment or a customer centric support environment preferred. -Technical certifications (i.e., RHCE, RHCT, A+, CompTIA, MySQL, CCNA, CCIE) or equivalent knowledge required. -Knowledge of scripting languages (i.e. python, perl, shell) are an advantage. -Good ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise work in order to maintain required productivity levels. -Must be detailed in documenting information and practice good follow through techniques. General problem solving abilities, coupled with a desire to take on responsibility. -Possesses good written and verbal communication skills; bi-lingual skills is a plus. -Due to the 24x7 operations of the business, must be able to work a flexible work schedule, may include nights, weekends, holidays, etc. Please note: You MUST be eligible to work in the United Kingdom and if successfully employed, you be subject to background checks which involve: Electoral Roll, Identity Checks, Employment History, References and Academic Qualifications.
