Assistant Accountant (Retail) Bedford £23,000 to £26,000 plus excellent benefits Accenture is the world's leading management and technology services organisation. Accenture is working with DHL to create a shared service centre to manage finance and IT for the company’s business in the UK Purpose of job Preparation, analysis and review of reports and other services provided to the Retail business units within the reporting function of Accenture. Main Accountabilities - Assistance to team in preparing reports for DHL Exel business units, Central Finance and our client’s auditors. - Ensuring all data is provided accurately and in line with the timetable. - Provision of financial and variance analysis. - Development of trading reports. - Provision of trading and Oracle support to business unit sites. - Provision of management reports. - Liaison with business unit finance and sites. - Production of ad-hoc reports. - To visit x number of client’s sites and being responsible for resolution of issues and building relationships. - Ensure that Contractual Service Performance Indicators (CSPI’s) are achieved. - Assist in the co-ordination of Accenture Open Days. - To attend BU reviews periodically. - To assist in the organisation and preparation of the Year End process. - To prepare PDP and ACS’s as per calendar and keep up to date throughout the year. Dimensions - Some traveling to be expected – a driving licence is essential. - Standard hours of 8.30am to 5pm - Some overtime to be expected, particularly during trading Skills, knowledge & experience: - Analytical skills - PC literate - Knowledge of Excel and Oracle - Numerate - Experience of an accounting function including Balance sheet reporting. - Technical accounting part-qualification or comparable practical experience. - Ability to work within a team environment - Strong communications skills - Ability to work to deadlines - Good attention to detail - Adaptable - Ability to work under pressure Education - Minimum AAT (or equivalent) and continuing studies towards professional qualification.
