Senior IT Project Manager – Complex, Strategic Projects – Oxfordshire The Senior Project Manager delivers programme and project management to a wide variety of complex, high-profile projects which can include operational and tactical change within RM's
'Assessment Services' Division. This group is responsible for the creation, development and ongoing managed service delivery of innovative online marking services and online testing services that will revolutionise the current manual processes that
exist within high stakes, assessment and marking (i.e. National GCSEs / A-levels etc The jobholder will manage the introduction of critical development and operational projects (typically up to 10 concurrent projects, from £50k to £500k, up
to 15 staff) which will enable RM to deliver projects across the group that improve our range and quality of services to our customers. This represents an immense opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager to work in a high profile and innovative
environment where there is considerable opportunity for growth and career progression as a potentially broad range of UK and overseas clients seek to exploit this new technology. Key responsibilities: - Manage the introduction of critical development and
operational projects to deliver defined project and programme objectives. - Manage cross functional and multi-site project teams in the achievement of project goals, demonstrating leadership, communication and organisational skills. - Manage key process
improvement or systems developments through RM and the customer, ensuring that customer satisfaction improvement or efficiency gains are delivered in line with the business case justifications. - Management of budgets and costs including developing cost
models and producing reports for use both across the group and for external customers - Communication of project progress at a senior level internally and with the customer, and being able to represent RM at company / customer steering meetings where
strategic issues are discussed. - Work within a structured Project Management methodology (Prince2) and own issue and risk management, implement effective change control, propose remedial actions, report project status through formal reports, and
interface with customers, 3rd party suppliers and RM management. The individual: - Of graduate calibre, with significant experience in a variety of Project Management roles, ideally within an IT-related or technology-led environment - Demonstrable track
record of successfully managing multi-disciplinary project teams and meeting strict cost, time and quality targets - Experience of managing projects through a standard methodology (e.g. PRINCE2), with high levels of process ownership - Exceptional
interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact with and influence clients and suppliers at all levels. - Ability to make sound judgements and decisions. - Solid planning & organising skills -
