You’ll be developing the infrastructure backbone for our mission-critical systems, currently delivering 24x7 hosted services to 8000+ customer networks (with 1000+ servers in 20 UK data centres) using a broad range of technologies including Windows 2000 / 2003, IIS, SMS, MOM, SQL, SharePoint, Exchange, Cisco IOS, EMC Networker, EMC San, VMWare ESX, EMC Autostart, TCP/IP, DNS and other Internet-related technologies. The role not only offers the opportunity to work on technically complex projects (such as developing the infrastructure to support the world’s largest SPS implementation with over 1.5 million users), but also real scope to influence the future direction of this fast-evolving environment. The role:  Acting as the technical lead on infrastructure development projects throughout the lifecycle, from initial design and development through to implementation.  Lead the implementation of large, strategic solutions within a project team.  Mentoring Engineers and Senior Engineers through project implementations.  Technical architecture of infrastructure elements for strategic projects and bids.  Presenting complex technical data and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders. The individual  Of graduate calibre with significant experience of designing, developing, implementing and supporting network related infrastructure.  A broad technical background, including experience of several of the following: Windows 2000 / 2003, IIS, SMS, MOM, SQL, SharePoint, MS Exchange, Cisco, Linux, EMC Networker, EMC SAN, Veritas Volume Manager, VMWare ESX and/or EMC Autostart.  Experience of working with Intel-based server hardware TCP/IP, DNS and other Internet related technologies, such as proxies, web caches and email servers would be advantageous.  Qualifications such as the MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, MCTS, MCDBA, RHCE, CCNP or CCIE would be of benefit however RM is happy to provide extensive ongoing training.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Excellent problem solving skills with good attention to detail.  Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service, technical projects and day-to-day work.  Flexible approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment As well as excellent training, you can expect a basic salary between £38,000 - £45,000, bonus, BUPA, childcare vouchers, pension, share scheme and a lively sports and social scene!
