Mobile Release Engineer - C++, Java, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Java ME, or RIM - London, South East The area: Release Engineering Google's Release Engineering team ensures that Google's services and programs are released in an orderly manner from development to production. The team establishes procedures and develops tools that are used in Google offices all over the world. The role: Mobile Release Engineer Would you like to be part of one of Google's key software development efforts on mobile? As a Release Engineer you'll use your strong technical ability and your skills at understanding complex systems in order to drive product releases. You'll work with other release engineers, developers, QA teams, and product managers to ensure that Google's products are delivered with a repeatable and auditable process on a variety of mobile platforms including Windows Mobile, Symbian, BlackBerry, and Java ME. Responsibilities: Build and sanity test release binaries for multiple platforms (BlackBerry, Doja, Wipi, Java ME, Symbian S60, UIQ, Windows Mobile). Liase with Engineering, QA, and Partner Services Organization to produce deliverables for operators and OEMs (HP, Vodafone, Motorola, Handango, Sony Ericsson). Interact with application signing/certification authorities: Java Verified, NSTL, Symbian Signed, Verisign. Design, document and code improvements to the scalable, automated integration/build/test and release process. Maintain the build process to support ongoing R&D and manage release branches. Requirements: BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or other technical field. Significant experience in software engineering, release engineering, and/or configuration management. Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems. Perforce experience highly desired. Skill with one or more scripting languages. Python experience highly desired. Familiarity with Windows Mobile, Symbian, Java ME, or RIM toolchains an advantage. Experience with build management tools (make, scons, ant), C++ and Java applications. Ability to work well with developers, test engineers, and non-engineering personnel.
