the challenge of applying their expertise in relation to database-driven Internet and intranet systems development in an informal but challenging working environment. The systems development team are responsible for a variety of existing internal and
external web sites and systems that are under a rolling program of enhancements or replacement. In addition, the team are responsible for the creation of new systems that support the company moving in new directions. Specific duties and responsibilities
will include:- - To take requirements captured by the team’s business analysts and build or change existing systems to meet the requirements - To provide input and leadership across the full life-cycle, at times guiding the solution from concept through
to post implementation support - To monitor and communicate progress against milestones taking remedial action where necessary - To conduct post-implementation reviews - Act as a key member of the Development Team - Some support of the existing systems
that use a variety of (Microsoft) technologies QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE - Min of 4 years software development experience. - Graduate equivalent level of intellectual thinking. - Degree at 2:2 level or above, ideally in Information Systems/ Computing
or similar. SKILLS REQUIRED - Develop across the project life cycle using .NET and SQL Server 2000/2005. Experience of the following; - Web Services development using .NET - XML - nUnit - IIS administration & security - Team Foundation Server -
SharePoint development - Solid understanding of database design - Demonstrable work management skills. - Ability to influence others assertively to get results; including appropriate standards of business communication (written/verbal). - Logical,
structured approach (e.g. to prioritization, problem analysis and resolution). - For the system support, knowledge of - MS Access - ASP (VBScript) - VB6 & COM - Understands the concepts behind the software tools. - Comfortable with turning concepts
into implementable working solutions. Design and planning skills: - Able to create appropriate UML models - Task planning using Microsoft Project, or equivalent. - Capable of producing high standards of work, to tight deadlines. - Able to work closely as
a Senior member of the Development Team. - Capable of/Interested in, developing others’ knowledge & skills. - Advanced level PC Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, or equivalent). ASPIRATIONS Someone who wants to make a DIRECT difference to the business
