Senior Development Engineer C# / ASP.NET – Oxfordshire

RM’s Assessment & Data Services division is a leading player in the application of technology in assessment, including test authoring, test delivery (eTesting) and marking (eMarking) across academic and professional institutions. The Technical Services group is responsible for the design and development of these innovative systems. These multi-million pound systems include revolutionising the processing and marking of high stakes examinations (e.g. GCSE) and delivering state-of-the-art computer-based tests that have been used successfully in hundreds of schools across the UK. Our test delivery system was awarded the accolade of “Innovative Project of the Year” by Computing magazine. Main responsibilities: - Lead the development of contract critical development projects, using C#, ASP.NET, XML, web services and SQL - Provide analysis and design input to complex user requirements and system designs - Task manage developers based internally, at RM subsidiaries and 3rd party companies - Focus on continually improving the quality of the product and development practices - Drive and monitor developers to ensure products are developed on time and to specification - Support the testing of products and ensure smooth transition to the live environment - Coach and mentor junior developers. Share experience and knowledge with the rest of the team Skills Required - Development experience in the following technologies: C#, ASP.NET, XML, web services and SQL Server - A proven track record of delivering complex commercial products on time and to specification. - Experience of leading teams of developers. - Excellent problem solving skills.
