Research & Development Engineer

Job Description:

The R & D Engineer will be responsible for working in a group to develop and maintain REI/Bentley Software products. This includes development of software specification following different design code documents and practices, development of numerical algorithms for engineering and general mathematical calculations.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

·       Bachelor?s in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structures

·       3 to 5 years experience in a structural engineering design office including steel and concrete, foundation and connection design.

·       Good experience in design of offshore structures, including design of jacket structures.

·       Good experience of API and/or DNV design codes is essential

·       Experience in usage of engineering software such as STAAD, SACS, SAP, STRUDL is a must.

·       Some practical experience in usage of programming languages such as Fortran, Visual Basic and C++ required.

·       Experience in development of macro programs in Excel, MathCAD is an advantage.

·       Good understanding of CAD systems such as MicroStation, AutoCAD etc.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

·       Strong sense of logic and engineering workflow.

·       Ability to properly document engineering design methods using flowcharts (Visio or Excel)
