Project Manager

Overall Purpose of Role:

This role is for an experienced Project Management professional with strong product management and technical skills. You must have experience leading large projects with groups of highly talented people. You should be business-minded, with a passion for the web and online media. You will also need to possess a solid understanding of software development to communicate effectively with our engineers and understand issues when they arise. Ideally, you will have worked in both large companies as well as startups. You must be able to run a project and work independently, while knowing when to raise issues and consult your peers.  It's important that you understand how to work in a dynamic, changing environment to develop the right level of process and procedures. You must have the ability to understand and work with large, complex systems. Fluency in the English language is required, as are strong communication, organisation, and planning skills.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities::

• Full project life-cycle responsibility from feasibility, to design and specification, through development, launch, and maintenance of a product or feature
• Work closely with executives and stakeholders to understand priorities and business requirements to ensure that what is built satisfies those needs
• Serve as liaison between business units and the technology team
• Write detailed functional requirements documentation to convey design elements and interactions to developers
• Participate in design and specification throughout development and test process and consult closely with software development and QA staff to convey requirements, understand and work within technical constraints, and optimize the effectiveness of implementations
• Create, maintain and monitor schedules, and the timely delivery of projects
• Identify potential issues in advance and put plans in place to mitigate such risks
• Be the voice of reason and be able to articulate issues and handle tradeoffs accordingly

Skills / Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in business or technical field, MBA a plus
• 5+ years of experience as a software Product or Project Manager
• Experience of working in the Online Software industry
• Experience of systems engineering & architecture
• Must have a strong understanding of Software Development methodologies
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining excellent working relationships with people in a wide variety of functional areas
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Common sense and trustworthiness
• Ability to work well with other highly talented individuals
• Knowledge and love of the game of poker and an understanding of the online poker industry are huge pluses
