Senior Windows Engineer

Overall Purpose of Role:

Senior Windows Engineer position in a rapidly growing and diverse environment, with a wide range of different systems and software. Our environment is both fun and challenging, with a highly demanding and technically savvy user base. The role includes supporting the 24X7 Internet services as well highly technical QA teams and development teams.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Participates in design, development/implementation of technical infrastructure (network and servers).
• Monitors, manages, and supports 24X7 Internet services
• Suggests potential improvements to the technical infrastructure relative to security, business continuity, service delivery, etc.
• Participates in asset requisition, acquisition, receipt, and management
• Participate is disaster recovery
• All other projects and tasks as assigned

Skills / Experience Required:

• 7 years of experience with comprehensive knowledge of server hardware, software operating systems.
• Self motivated to better the environment
• Leadership skills
• Able to design, implement, document solutions
• Able to work with little direction
• Broad experience with many IT services
• Open to new technologies and be eager to learn them
• Customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels.
• Expert knowledge of: Windows Server 2003, Active Directory,TCP/IP, IIS, HP Hardware and monitoring tools, Automation tools such as Altiris deployment server, Client /Server applications, Windows debugging tools (WinDBG, Sysinternals tools)
• Ability to work with VBScript, VB.Net, ASP.Net
• Linux, Cisco, Netscreen, HP Switches, Netscaler, VMWare ESX, Microsoft Clustering, and SAN experience a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
