MOSS/SharePoint Architect

Description

Avanade is looking for experienced MOSS/SharePoint Architects with excellent communication and customer skills to work on component applications in a distributed environment.

As a key member of our consulting team, you will have the opportunity to design and develop customer solutions using cutting-edge Microsoft technologies.

Travel is an integral part of this position; although a majority of our work is based locally, candidates must be willing and able to travel as much as is demanded by the needs of our customers and our business.

Key requirements

• Extensive experience working with Microsoft development technologies
• Strong experience of working with SharePoint Portal Server and/or Windows SharePoint Services (MOSS)
• Server Stack
• Windows SharePoint Services
• SharePoint Portal Server/Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
• Good experience of working with .NET
• Experience working with data retrieval from SQL Server 200x
• Excellent client facing skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and multi-tasking capabilities
• Experience in the creation and integration of bespoke web-parts.
• Understanding of the business analysis skills required for SharePoint projects, including taxonomies, hierarchies, document lifecycle, business processes, etc that are needed to drive a successful project.
• Experienced in the use of Windows SharePoint Services web services and APIs to integrate with smart client tools e.g. the Microsoft Office system.
• Able to design SharePoint Services server farms and topologies e.g. extranet, back-to-back and perimeter topologies.
• Understanding of the security considerations around enterprise search and portal e.g. sharing data across web parts and excluding content from a crawl.
• Understanding of the advantages, recommendations and tradeoffs for each specific authentication methods to help you determine which methods to use in an environment e.g. Windows, ASP.NET forms or Web SSO.
• Understanding of options around SharePoint integration with Office Communications Server 200x and the Active Directory service, LiveMeeting, Groove Server Relay and Groove Server Data Bridge, Microsoft Exchange Server and MSN Messenger.
