1. IP Manager 05 May 2009
Oxford Nanopore Technologies is a vibrant, fast-growing company developing a revolutionary method of single-molecule detection. Our lead application is DNA sequencing. The technology combines elements of chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, engineering and informatics.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to manage our substantial, growing IP estate. Our in-house IP is complemented by a broad in-licensed portfolio through collaborations with world-leading institutions such as the University of Oxford and Harvard.
You may be a 2-3 year qualified ambitious patent attorney or a more experienced IP professional seeking to move in-house. You will combine excellent technical aptitude with project management and communications skills.
Responsibilities will include: the strategy, prosecution and management of our IP estate, drafting of new patents and management of relationships with external collaborators. You will work closely with the internal R&D and corporate team, external counsel and licensees.

2. Scientific Data Analyst 05 May 2009
We are recruiting a Data Analyst to join our rapidly expanding informatics team, to participate in the development of our revolutionary DNA sequencing system.
This role will involve analysis and interpretation of data sets derived during the development and optimisation of our DNA sequencing platform (and its derivatives).
The candidate should be a highly numerate individual, with the ability to manage large data sets, apply a wide range of appropriate analyses, develop ad-hoc software tools and most importantly, the ability to communicate complex numerical and statistical issues across all functional domains within the entire development project.
Successful candidates will be qualified to postdoctoral level in a numerate discipline such as statistics, applied mathematics or physics. He/she will have a proven track record of supporting complex multi-disciplinary development projects within an industrial setting. Preference will be given to experience of product development or process development. Technical leadership skills, as well as proven team working, will also be valued.
3. Scientific Programmers (Instrument Software) 05 May 2009
We are recruiting scientific programmers to join our rapidly expanding informatics team, to participate in the development of our revolutionary DNA sequencing system.
This role will develop the analysis and control software (and other peripherals) associated with the DNA sequencing platform. Particular challenges involve efficient signal processing, run-time automation, real-time control and critically, the encapsulation of all of these functions on a cost-effective embedded computing system.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record in scientific instrument software or analysis pipeline development within a dynamic industrial environment. Skills may include but be limited to :
Programming in C/C++, Perl Python, D, Erlang in a goal oriented way.
Agile software development practices.
UNIX and FPGA/GPU/SIMD programming.
Close and positive interactions with engineers.
Algorithm design and optimisation.
4. Senior Electronics Engineer 06 May 2009
Oxford Nanopore Technologies is developing a revolutionary technology for direct electrical DNA sequencing. We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our rapidly expanding engineering team. This role provides leadership to a small team of engineers delivering electronics for a new DNA sequencing product; in particular multi-channel analogue amplification, digital signal processing, multiplexing and communications across an array of instruments.
The successful candidate is likely to have five years relevant electronics engineering with some leadership experience, and skills in design methodologies of electronic data acquisition, signal processing, FPGA design and data transfer
