Senior RAD Analyst/Developer - Front Office Equities

M&G is a large and highly successful Investment Management company dealing mainly in UK & Global Equities and Fixed Income investments with some £160Bn under management.
The company is now looking to recruit a person to fill the role of Senior Front Office RAD Analyst/Developer to work within the 12 strong RAD Team who provide development resource and support for the Front, Middle and Back Office functions within M&G Investments. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience of IT development and experience of formal development methods and techniques.
M&G are looking for a well driven and motivated individual with a high level of responsibility and an eye for quality. The candidate should be quick to respond to user issues and the general demands of the business area supported.
Key Responsibilities
· Front Office development using VBA, Access, Excel, Oracle, SQL Server, C# .NET for the desktop and Intranet.
· Delivering systems for the RAD team predominantly to Front Office clients via the desktop or intranet portal.
· Client relationship management with users in the business.
· Assisting RAD management with task delivery, resource planning and communication at all levels.
· Issue/problem management including defining actions for other areas in Information Systems and Technical Services teams.
· Escalation to RAD manager, senior IS managers and business management.
Target Attributes
Essential
· Would suit someone with 3 years Front Office Equities experience.
· Detailed knowledge of Fund Management principles, concepts and modelling techniques.
· Must have strong VBA, Access, Excel, SQL Server and preferably Oracle. Strong OO understanding and experience of C# .NET or Java J2EE development.
· Must have very strong problem analysis and investigation skills and be able to find creative sustainable solutions to system issues and user problems.
· Fully capable with SQL across database environments including writing stored procedures, queries, triggers, and schema design.
· Strong communication skills and able to converse with users on their terms.
· Experienced in issue/problem management - on both technical and user/process basis.
· Experience of business and process analysis.
· Ability to work reliably without close supervision and used to working in a structured environment with clearly defined procedures and controls.
· Good interpersonal skills are key, the candidate must be able to work well with other members of the team, management and business clients.
