Reporting to the Group Supply Chain Director and located in IMI Headquarters, Birmingham, this role exists primarily to support the group-wide base metals (copper, aluminium, zinc and nickel) hedging process and manage the Group material cost reduction reporting process. In addition, you will be expected to support with the development of procurement and supply initiatives including strategy, performance measurement, risk management and continuous improvement tools & techniques.
Responsibilities:
q Provision of fundamental, technical and other analysis on base metals to the IMI hedging committee, Executive group and purchasing community via a monthly hedging report and information pack.
q Day-to-day management of the hedging process, involving:
- Interaction with IMI platform businesses on a global basis to ensure quality and timeliness of information.
- Input into hedging committee decision-making using market knowledge and understanding.
- Maintenance of hedging spreadsheets on a monthly basis to ensure maintained quality of data.
- Bespoke commodities analysis and reports for procurement directors and the Executive to give visibility impact of base metal price fluctuations, and to aid decision-making.
q Ongoing intelligence gathering and provision of regular commodities data report for circulation to the procurement and sales communities within IMI.
q Provision of bespoke commodities data, reports and analysis for IMI businesses on specific commodity types in specific regions to aid with negotiations, and to estimate impact of price movements on the business.
q Coordination of IMI cost reduction performance reporting with platform businesses to ensure timely and accurate reporting against targets.
q Cost reduction target setting to support long term financial planning as part of the annual and long term financial plan.
q Management of the IMI supplier risk programme to ensure an ?actions driven? approach to managing and mitigating risk.
q Supporting the Group Supply Chain Director and other platform Procurement and Supply Chain leaders with the development of strategic and tactical initiatives.

q On time and accurate commodity and base metals reporting
q On time and accurate cost reduction reporting
q Achievement of IMI Group overall cost reduction targets
q Successful management of the ?supplier continuity and responsible business? risk management programme
Qualifications and Experience:
q Degree or Business & Finance related qualification.
q Experience managing complex reporting systems and running cost reduction programmes in global engineering business.
q Experience of commodities and base metals markets.
