Our client is a leading medical technology company engaged in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of wide field retinal imaging devices. Retinal imaging is an important tool for the diagnosis of eye problems such as retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, etc., and can also indicate evidence of non-eye diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and certain cancers. Founded in 1992 and with revenue in 2008 of $100m, our client is a fast growing international company with operations in the US, Canada, UK and Germany

The C++ Software Engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to a wide range of activities within the research and development department in their medical devices company in Dunfermline


Software Engineer Principal duties include:

- Design and development of the products application software using object-oriented Rapid Application Development tools
- Integrating the user interface with device control, data resources and image processing algorithms
- Provide support to customers and colleagues in a pro-active manner in the form of creative solutions to problems encountered with the product
- To deliver work in compliance with ISO13485 and FDA Medical Device Design Control processes


Software Engineer candidate will be:

- Educated to at least degree level in computing science or engineering
- Have industrial experience within a medical device/regulated company
- You will have an excellent understanding of structured design and development methodologies and be able to work effectively to tight deadlines
- Have a positive attitude and the ability to think creatively you will naturally be enthusiastic about your work

You will be a highly skilled C++ developer working on rapid application development tools on Microsoft Windows platform. The following skills would be desirable for this role:

- Graphics programming ( OpenGL or DirectX ) and image manipulation (using LEADTools or similar package)
- Database client programming ( SQL )
- DICOM and HL7 medical communication protocols
