Background

 

The Project Management Office is a relatively new team within Business Change at M&G.  It was established during a re-structure with the aim of improving project deliverable transparency within Group Operations and consists of 3 staff, reporting to PMO Manager.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for accurate production of Review Boards and Business Unit information.
  • To review current processes, project methodology and deliverables.
  • To maintain the central project rolling 12 month roadmap of all Group Operations projects.
  • Maintain and track roadmap dependencies, deliverables and key milestones.
  • To provide advice and guidance on methodology for delivering the projects with Group Operations.
  • Implement and validate Group Operations MI requirements.
  • Monitor agreed governance processes.
  • To establish a Quality Assurance process.
  • Deputize for PMO Manager.
  • Provide support and guidance to PMO Admin Support team members.
  • Facilitate project & process related workshops.
  • Contribute to development and service of the PMO.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

 

  • Similar role in project functions for at least three years.
  • Experience within a PRINCE2 environment.
  • Ideally would suit someone with 2 years line management experience.
  • Pro-active, self-sufficient, works on own initiative, goal-driven and to deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of project methodology and structured approaches.
  • Sound diplomatic and persuasive skills.
  • Accomplished in use of the MS Office suite and MS Project.
  • Experience in use of project tracking techniques.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Experience in facilitation of project related meetings.
