Network Planning and Implementations Technical Project Manager - can be based in either Sheffield or Dublin
Working as part of the team responsible for the management and technical implementation of network planning and implementation projects. The position is that of a technical project manager with the main responsibility of driving assigned projects through to completion. It also involves responsibility for technical implementation aspects of the projects.
Job Responsibilities:
*Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
*Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
*Sets project schedule and key activities and critical path milestones
*Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
*Anticipate potential problems and minimizes exposure and risk on project.
*Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
*Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project
*Facilitates meetings effectively.
*Holds regular status meetings with project team.
*Keeps project team well informed of changes
*Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
*Manages to and achieves cost savings goals if applicable set for projects.
*Recognizes areas for internal improvement and suggest plans for implementation.
*Complies with and enforces standard policies and procedures.
*Supports Senior Project Managers
*Carry out technical implementation tasks within the project.
EXPERIENCE
*Demonstrates knowledge on a variety of project management and operational concepts, practices, policies, and procedures. Relies on limited experience and good judgement to plan and accomplish a variety of tasks, goals and projects. Performs work well with general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Effectively communicates information verbally and in writing in a clear and coherent manner. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
*Demonstrates experienced in working concurrently on several reasonably complex projects with occasional guidance required. Demonstrates the ability to use independent judgement regularly in performance of job responsibilities. Performs job well under pressure and manages time effectively.
QUALIFICATION / SKILLS REQUIRED
*Solid understanding of and ability to navigate through Remedy.
oAble to create and/or search for Projects
oFamiliar with Device Ticket form
oAble to create and/or search for COR circuit records
oAble to create and/or search for Project Task Tickets
oCan create reports
*Solid understanding of and ability to navigate through Visional
oAble to perform advance search criteria
*Working knowledge of Operations and functions of each unit within Operations
*Frequent user of Capacity Management Guidelines and capable of initiating projects to support exceeded threshold augment triggers in Network and/or Component performance reports
*Manages Network Projects
*Telecom/Data communications Cisco Routers/Switches, NTU's, E1 Circuits, ISDN, Lease Line Circuits
*Knowledge of DNX and Newbridge Switch systems
*Basic IP networking and protocol knowledge a plus
*Familiar with Core network requirements and various network access delivery methods
*Familiar with IP Addressing / DNS
*Require a bachelor's degree and / or comparable experience in the field or in a related area.

*Demonstrates ability to make sound technical decisions on network designs. Ability to work in a fast pace environment and manage a variety of responsibilities at the same time. Can get cooperation and action from people not under direct supervision.
*Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and persistence in the achievement of goals and tasks.
