Strategy Manager ? Housing Renewal and Regeneration

This impressive Local Authority has a long standing reputation for having a different approach to delivering its work effectively time and again. The city has also attracted large amounts of investment from William Hill, Dixons and Insight; it has two large universities and is the greenest city in England, with over 150 parks and 50 woodland spaces.

This presents a genuinely exciting opportunity for a freelance Consultant to join this impressive Public Body Organisation, where the successful candidate will work as part of an open and friendly team.

A Strategy Manager is required to join the Housing Renewal Team to be part of the wider 'Transform South Yorkshire' urban regeneration scheme. Reporting to the Programme Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational advice on all matters relating to housing regeneration and renewal. This will include liaising with key Stakeholders, Board Members and other Directors in order to develop policy, whilst maintaining its performance and direction. You will also be required to create and build support for a radical housing market renewal strategy for South Yorkshire, ensuring that this dovetails effectively with other related plans and strategies.

The role will also require you to manage other key members of the team in the areas of Planning, Communications and Project Management, ensuring open and effective flow of information throughout.

This is approximately a four month contract, with the potential for further work.
The scheduled start date is: Monday, 01 June 2009.

A Strategy Manager is required to join the Housing and Regeneration Team of this impressive Public Sector Organisation. Applicants for this role will have a sophisticated understanding of Housing Market Renewal and other such urban regeneration schemes, including knowledge of relevant research areas. With an aptitude at handling complex information, you will also be competent at analysing data and drawing related conclusions.

The successful candidate's technical will relate to economic, urban and / or housing policy and strategy development and / or implementation. This will also include experience of successfully bidding for large-scale housing and regeneration programmes. Experience of working with Partnering Boards would also be highly beneficial.

As a character, you will display strong project management skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels. Able to generate and maintain your own workload, you will also be a proficient team player.
