VMware Virtualization Infrastructure Specialist

A VMware Virtualization Infrastructure Engineer is currently required for our large oil and gas client based in Canary Wharf for an initial 6 month contract to start ASAP

The Shared Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for daily operational support of the Shared Infrastructure service (VMware, Solaris, SQL and Oracle environments).
Virtual Machine/database creation and allocation, memory/CPU/disk capacity increases account for a majority of the daily activity.

The candidate will need to have-
*Detailed understanding 8and substantial practical experience in providing operational management of virtualized environments
*Significant experience performing systems administration activities on Solaris, Wintel and Linux server platforms
*Significant experience in Solaris 10 Container and Veritas Clustering technologies
*Significant experience in underlying SAN platforms
*Experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server database platforms
*Experience with VMware 3.x platforms
*Experience in Disaster Recovery architecture and procedures
*Experience desired in VB, Perl, Windows Shell, and Unix Shell scripting
*Experience in supporting Microsoft and Veritas clustering solutions
*Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
*Certification in VMware, Solaris, and/or Microsoft operating systems
*ITIL Service Management Foundation certified preferred
