Lead Infrastructure Integrator

UNIX, VMWARE, Lead Infrastructure Integrator - London - 3 Month Contract - Public Services

The Role:

To provide excellent infrastructure integration services to all of IM in an efficient and effective manner, meeting ST IM's balanced needs to: deliver a reliable and effective service to programmes and projects, increase efficiency and value, attract and retain high performing IT staff.

Substantial in-depth proven experience in designing, configuring, developing and administrating solutions involving either.

·UNIX (Sun Solaris, zones, ksh, Perl, sed/awk, DiskSuite, Clustering)
Or
·WINDOWS (including VMWARE and exchange server).

Substantial breadth and depth hands on experience in:

· Scripting, automation and scheduling, architecture
·Networking using the TCP/IP system
·Veritas NetBackup
·Storage Areas Network
·Monitoring tools, e.g. BigBrother, BMC Patrol
·Jumpstart
·Active network monitoring
·Security measures and issues
·Firewall/Internet technology
·Remote access
·Current trends in IT

Knowledge:

· GIS applications and network requirements (desirable)
·Testing and documentation of network configuration
·T specification and procurement in government or local government organisations
·Technical change management and configuration - management

Essential Skills:

·Proven experience of people performance management techniques (Essential)
·Experience using resource planning tools such as MS Project (Essential)
·Proven ability to make sound decisions in high pressure environments and possess the ability to think laterally across many resource requests within complex projects.
