IT Operations Technician

We are currently reviewing and updating our systems to accommodate our client base expansion, so we are seeking an IT Operations Technician.

We are a 12 to 15 minute walk from the station and private parking is available at our premises.

Description:

The role is a varied one and would be suitable for a graduate with good technical and communication skills. You must be enthusiastic and be keen to take on new challenges. Experience or qualifications within the IT industry are advantageous. A degree is preferable.

You will be trained in all aspects of the energy industry, and assist in the day to day running of an energy supply company.

Reporting to the Senior IT Developer, you will become responsible for monitoring & supporting the IT systems, performing daily operational tasks, maintaining the company?s disaster recovery architecture, developing & implementing bug fixes and ultimately developing new systems and procedures.

Essential Skills:

You must have experience in MS SQL server (or equivalent) data input, extraction and manipulation, at the SQL script level, including Stored Procedures, Triggers and the use of Views & temporary tables.

You will be able demonstrate knowledge of VB.Net.

You will have experience in IT project development.

You will be adept at problem solving, have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A proficiency in MS Excel is also required.

Preferred Skills:

A proficiency in all MS Office products.

Administration of MS SQL Server.

Administration of MS NT networks, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc

Desirable but not essential:

IT Based Degree

Application support experience

Administration of MS Exchange Server
