Technical Data Analyst Role Objective & Key Accountabilities
These responsibilities will be as follows:
- Data extraction
- Data extraction from multiple database types using different extraction methodologies
- Quality of data extracted is paramount
- Expert advice in efficiency of data solutions to the business
- Directing and driving technical improvements in current processes of data extraction and manipulation
- Managing technically-driven report automation projects in order to reduce operational inefficiency
- Report compilation
- Co-working with a Finance Planning and Analysis team to deliver the data required in a format they request
- Manipulating extracted data into clearly and easily accessible data formats, depending on business requirements
- Data migration
- Data transfer via different methodologies (ftp, DTS packages, Biztalk, TIBCO, other integration methodologies)
- Aid in Data Migration projects as and when necessary
- Compliance
- Ownership of data security compliance procedures, ensuring correct approval and evidence storage is maintained for audit purposes
Candidate Profile
The Technical Data Analyst must have the following skills and experiences:
- All the technical skills detailed in the 'Skill Set Required' section
- Must concentrate on detailed work easily, and have the patience to follow detailed instruction
- Proven self-sufficient of working, with ingenuity to create new>- Proven experience of flexibility and adaptability, to be able to handle interruptions and changes
- Works collaboratively with other team members (both internally and externally to main office) to deliver process improvements and/or enhancements
- An ability to recognise customer perspective on technical data requests
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritise, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Communicative skills both written and verbal are essential as this will be a team-working position
- Demonstrable experience of being a very quick learner, in particular of detail, but also with the ability to see the Big Picture, and where the task at hand lies within it.
- Strong business understanding to know how to communicate with non technical business users to understand their needs and deliver accordingly
