Purpose of Role

Role: Support Worker

Location: Darlington, Co Durham   Salary: £8424 - £9295 (pro rata)   Hours: 25 per week (shifts including weekend work required)   Duties to include:
  • Supporting people with all of their personal care needs
  • Support people to do the things that they want to do
  • Support people with household tasks and all their cleaning needs
  • Support people with activities of their choice both inside and outside of their home

To support me you need:  

  • To be able to read, write, work with numbers and use a computer
  • To be willing to take part in training and learn more about your job

It would be even better if you also had:

  • Experience of working with people with learning difficulties and mental health needs
  • An NVQ about Care or supporting people

Requirements

You will have a caring and friendly nature, a sense of humour, be approachable and non judgemental and have an enthusiastic, positive approach in supporting us to do the things that as individuals we want to do.

You will be willing to support us in all aspects of our personal care including intimate personal care, support with medication and support with eating and drinking.

Ideally you will share some of our interests some of the things we like to do include ten pin bowling, swimming, rock climbing, going to shows and concerts, going to the local pub, football, walks, shopping, family visits and going away on holiday.

You will respect that you will be supporting us in our own home and will support us to develop skills in all aspects of running our home including completing household tasks and paying bills etc.

Driver preferred but not essential.
