Role: Purchasing/ Procurement Professional - GNFR
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: up to £70 000 dependant on experience
Due to continued expansion, our client is looking for an experienced purchasing professional to manage the procurement of GNFR (Goods Not For Resale) across various categories within their stores and Head Office.
The Role
· Be responsible for the procurement and maintenance of a specific GNFR category(ie, machinery, equipment, print and display)
· Set the strategy and direction of the team
· Foster a results orientated culture, where individuals understand and take ownership for team goals
· Provide day to day coaching and development and ensuring that the team have the capability to deliver current and future plans
· Identify and implement improvements within your area
· Maximise cost savings and efficiency opportunities
· Deliver great products and services that are competitively priced and meet the goals and objectives set
· Influence and negotiate with suppliers in order to optimise value and operational efficiencies around product sourcing, supply and availability
The Person
· Previous experience in a purchasing role where the focus has been to procure goods not for resale and services, at a senior management level
· Previous experience in a commercial environment
· A successful track record in managing both ad hoc tasks with short deadlines and longer term projects
· A high level of commercial acumen
· Experience of contract law, procurement systems and processes including e-procurement and tendering processes
· The ability to work cross functionally within the business and with external stakeholders
· The ability to analyse information and make commercial recommendations
