Technical Lead - Leeds

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within this rapidly growing organisation for a Technical Lead. The purpose of the role will be to provide IT infrastructure development, management and technical support to the business, including network, desktop, server and other technical support. Develop and implement a consistent approach to IT network, software and infrastructure development.

Main responsibilities
*Delivery of assigned infrastructure improvement projects on time and to business requirements
*Management of outsourced suppliers to ensure SLA's are met.
*Manage software and technical systems support across the business.
*Ensure security and system policies are adhered to including firewall administration and virus protection.
*Management of technical communications including communications lines, VPN's, web services, email and define standards for base line performance reporting
*Develop and maintain systems documentation.
*Provide third level technical support to the IT support team
*Assist with the development and implementation of change controls, system updates and software releases.

Technical experience
*Develop and maintain systems documentation.
*Extensive experience of managing and supporting a corporate IT infrastructure with particular skills in MS Windows server environments, (Particularly Windows 2003, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange 2003) Networking (LAN/WAN/VPN) and systems security.
*Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills covering network administration and security, server management, software and issue resolution.
*Experience of Blade servers, SAN's and VMWare server virtualisation and Citrix technologies is desirable.
*Experience of working in a structured IT support/helpdesk environment

Excellent communications skills including negotiating/influencing. Analytical skills, commercial awareness. A team worker with group facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution skills. Pro-active outlook with emphasis on getting things done.. Knowledge of ITIL standards and their practical application. Infrastructure SLA is met both internally and externally. Supplier deliveries and services are on time and on budget

Education and Qualification
*Ideally, Degree level or equivalent
*Achieved or working towards MCSE accreditation. (MCSE - Microsoft Certified Software Engineer)
*Any Cisco networking, VMWare or Citrix qualifications would be an advantage
