Support Engineer / Application Support Analyst

Our client's business is at the very heart of the London banking community and is a stable member and well regarded institution within city finance circles. Our client's IT systems help support the trading of items such as derivatives swaps and fixed income products. Our client's position in London will further benefit as the banking world adjusts to a more regulated and structured environment. As a highly established and one of just two preferred suppliers to this client we have been asked to recruit a Service Support Engineer.

You will be part of an 18 strong team who work alongside the software engineering team supporting and developing key products. This is an application support role - resolving & incidents is priority. There may be scope to do some development work, but apps support is priority. Staff must be happy in a high pressure banking environment.

Tech. environment: Unix (Solaris 8 and 10), shell scripting, transact SQL (Sybase 12.5.1), C++ Clearcase, AWK, IB Rendezvous 7/8, Asset Control 2.6/2.7, Java, Clearecase, VBA.

Experience:
* Worked in an application support role in an investment bank in the real time pricing area.
* Experience of testing and presenting test results would be highly desirable
* Demonstrable experience of problem solving in a production environment would be beneficial.
* Business knowledge of Financial markets and pricing models.
* Exposure to ITIL or similar would be an advantage.
