Customer Relations & Communications Manager

Our client, a leading business within the Defence Sector would like to recruit a new Customer Relations & Communications Manager to its Customer Account Management and Marketing team.

This specialist role will focus on developing and managing promotional activities and relationship management tools for engaging key business customers and to ensure the Company's image is maintained against target.

In this role you will focus on 4 key objectives and responsibilities:

1. Customer Relationship Management

Developing and implementing Customer Relations policy and strategy and continually improving the policy and strategy to ensure this company's relationship standards become the benchmark for Defence sector businesses.

Managing relationships with professional bodies ensuring mutually beneficial agreements are in place.

2. Customer Visits

Plan and host customer visits from Military Educational Institutions and Front-Line Units (e.g. Air Warfare Centre, Maritime Warfare School).

3. Events

Manage presence of business at major Defence Shows and Public Events and plan Corporate Entertainment and Sponsorship in the UK.

4. Reporting

Produce and distribute, as appropriate, regular situation reports to the Senior Management regarding customer contact mapping, off-site Events and general promotional activities.


To succeed in this role you will need the following skills and experience:

Strong people and customer-focused Management skills
Extensive knowledge of the Weapons / Defence business.
Substantial knowledge of the MOD and other defence sector businesses
Communication and Listening Skills at senior level.


We are looking for people with EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE in the DEFENCE INDUSTRY. If ex military most suitable experience will be from Ranks: RAF - Squadron Leader, Flight Lieutenant.
Navy - Lieutenant Commander or Lieutenant.
Army - Captain, Lieutenant, Warant Officer or Chief Petty Officer.
