Financial Control / Regulatory Business Analyst

My client is a major global investment bank looking to hire financial/regulatory specialist business analysts for the change function within financial control.

The purpose of the Financial Control Projects Team is to support Financial Control in achieving their objectives by facilitating improvements to processes and systems, either to resolve issues or increase efficiency & effectiveness.

Financial Control Projects are responsible for i) managing the controlled roll-out of standardised global systems, and ii) process improvement & design, in order to meet control, efficiency and cost objectives of the Firm

The role is for a Business Analyst to work on projects across the finance space within the investment bank including a large, strategic replatforming programme and the ongoing Basel 2 Programme.

The primary objective of the business analyst will be to work with Finance staff and IT to reduce the reporting cycle within selected parts of the Basel 1 and Basel 2 processes. In order to achieve this objective the analyst will be expected to do the following:
- Document existing business processes within Financial Control.
- Work with staff in Financial Control and other departments (e.g. Credit, Operations) to

process improvement opportunities.
- Document target business processes and ensure that they will meet the project objectives.
- Work with IT analysts to obtain initial estimates for any IT development which is required.
- Document business requirements for IT changes.
- Assist users in transition to new business processes.

In order to be considered you must have:
- Excellent structured full project lifecycle business analysis experience.
- Knowledge/experience of the various Products traded by a major IB
- Experience of working on projects in the product control and/or financial control/regulatory space within investment banking.
- Knowledge/experience of Regulatory initiatives such as Basel II
