My client is a Public-private-voluntary sector organisation formed in 2000 to address the challenges faced by long-term unemployed people and help them back into sustainable work. Since then they have helped over 100,000 people to do so. The economic downturn has made this purpose even more important. As an organisation it has ambitious plans underpinned by recently being awarded a large number of the 'Flexible New Deal' contracts to further assist the unemployed. This exciting role is pivotal to delivering the expansion needed to deliver the targets within these contracts.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will have complete county level responsibility for delivering contractual performance, ensuring contract compliance, quality standards and financial management. With a multi-million pound diverse contract and up to 80 staff, you will be expected to deliver on challenging targets, whilst returning the required level of profitability. To do this you will build and train your team, then lead and motivate them personally.

These teams working across a number of locations, will help people back in to viable sustained employment. To do this they will be liaising with many other partner organisations as well as Local/Regional businesses. Your role will be very operationally focussed and you will be measured on output and results as defined within the contract.

As the candidate you will already be an experienced Business Unit / Contract Manager with exposure to multi-site environments where change is normal and you control large teams. A strong understanding of the labour market would be highly desirable as would experience of Sub-contract arrangements, implementing new contracts & TUPE. Last but by no means least you will have a proven ability to spot and capitalise on business development opportunities where they arise.
