Oracle Database Administrator /DBA

Global blue chip company require an Oracle Database Administrator to join their team on a fixed-term basis initially for 9 months.

Strong Oracle Version 9i and 10g is essential, knowledge of other Oracle versions will be advantageous
Good knowledge of Unix, knowledge of Windows O/S.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, scripting to perform various DBA tasks will be required.
Good communication and organisations skills
Adaptability, creativity and flexibility.

The main focus of the job will be in maintaining and tuning existing databases, supporting existing production databases and Oracle applications 11i and managing changes to those databases and Oracle apps

Experience of database deployment and maintenance in a complex environment is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to work in an environment with many development, acceptance and live databases and will be expected to manage multiple databases.

Willingness to work weekends and evening at times will be required and there may well be a requirement to provide 24*7 on-call support on a rota basis
