My client, a successful and well recognised company, is currently looking for a field service engineer to bolster their technical staff in the UK.
The role has two aspects: Installation and Training customers on site with the newly purchased systems, typically over two days. Handling service requests from customers by phone and email relaying as needed to colleagues in the headquarters. In some cases these requests will result in making quotations for spares, service visits and accessories.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Plan, book travel and carry out installation visits at customer sites including arrangement of expert help from headquarter/UK if required.
· Manage service requests via email and Telephone.
· Respond to requests for quotation for service spares, accessories and service visits.
· Reporting to the MD of the company?s UK office
· Where required assist the UK office personnel in all other tasks such as: Exhibitions, demonstrations and contract measurements.
Ideal qualification and experience:
· Education to HNC or degree level in a technical science (ideally)
· Experience of fault finding and installation of hardware and software on desktop Windows based PCs ?
· Knowledge of lasers, optics, photography & Customer Service (Ideal).
· Willing and able to travel on regular basis to UK and Northern Europe.
· Self motivated, flexible and able to work on own initiative.
· Able to work with scientific customers in a pleasant manner.
