User Experience Designer

Our Client, based in Dublin, has an urgent role for a really strong graphic designer with experience using Adobe's Flash or Microsoft's Expression Blend, Adobe Photoshop Illustrator, and proficient with doing design mock-ups in PPT. This person must have a strong understanding and experience of interaction design, usability and human-computer interaction (HCI). This HCI component is really important - so not just a graphic designer - but someone who also has the User Experience/interaction

Also this person must be used to taking ownership of a project.

Within this role, the person would be working on a number of innovative, different projects which will be viewed and used globally.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with the Program Management team to design simple, enjoyable and attractive user experiences, from initial concepts through wireframes to polished designs.
- Ensure that the delivered solution meets users' requirements by being a committed user advocate.
- Organise and conduct formal and informal usability studies, draw conclusions and integrate these into application designs.
- Work with partner User Experience teams to ensure all designs produced integrate and are consistent with related application components developed elsewhere.
- Work closely with development and test teams throughout the design process to ensure all designs produces and practical and efficient to implement.
- Accurately estimate, plan and track work tasks and complete assigned work on schedule.
- Deliver clear and complete user interface specifications and high quality visual design materials.

Minimum Requirements
- Candidates must have a well organised and varied portfolio which clearly describes the candidate's personal contribution to each project. Send links to your online portfolios along with a CV
- Experience of user experience design for web applications, including Flash or Silverlight-based applications.
- Both the ability to produce innovative, novel designs from scratch and the ability to follow existing application guides and look-and-feel are required.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Psychology, Ergonomics, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, etc.), or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong graphic design skills; proficient with graphic design tools (e.g. PhotoShop, Expression Blend).
- Strong understanding of interaction design, usability and human-computer interaction.
- Proven record of designing user interfaces for interactive software applications.
- Proven record of working in a software development environment.
- Good communication skills and fluent in both written and spoken English.

Desirable Skills
- Experience of rich Internet application (RIA) design.
- Competency at designing data-centric business application interfaces.
- Experience of conducting usability studies.
- Experience of designing user interfaces for mobile devices.
