Could you lead a team of engineers in a fast-paced and mission critical environment? We?re looking for a Technical Support Team Leader to join RM, the UK?s top IT Employer and a Microsoft Gold Partner. You?ll be leading an operational support team responsible for supporting our enterprise infrastructure (encompassing multiple live environments) based on Windows 2003 / 2008, Active Directory, SQL Server, XML / XSLT and IIS.Ideally you?ll have strong technical support experience within a Microsoft environment, as well as experience of leading and managing teams of engineers. This fast-paced and challenging environment offers the opportunity to make your mark in a highly visible role, with support from RM for your development into a wide range of future career opportunities.

The role will involve:

  • Line managing a team of Applications Support Engineers, DBAs and Systems Engineers.
  • Developing and implementing the operational strategy to support future growth and new customer requirements.
  • Day to day management of operations and escalations within the applications support team.
  • Working closely with development and testing teams within the division, to understand future testing and production environment requirements and delivering systems to meet these.
  • Monitoring and assessing performance of live systems and taking responsibility for systems security.
  • Configuration management of software and hardware changes.
  • Working closely with internal hosting and IT teams to drive infrastructure changes and ensure maximum system performance.

The individual:

  • Of graduate calibre, you?ll have a technical encompassing some or several of the following: SQL Server 2000 / 2005, Windows 2003 / 2008, Networking, Web Services, Servers, XML, and Internet Security.
  • Prior team leading experience within a Technical Support, Application Support or Operations based environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service, technical projects and day-to-day work.
  • Flexible approach and the ability to make a real contribution to the team in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
