This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Application Support Manager to join one of the UK?s leading companies, managing a team responsible for supporting my client?s live applications and platforms.

In this newly created position, you will manage a team of Systems Engineers and DBAs, responsible for implementing and maintaining the technical infrastructures that support critical customer-facing online applications.

These applications demand high-availability, robustness and resilience with terabytes of data being processed, so you will need a sound understanding of SQL Server, including load balancing and performance tuning.

The role of Application Support Manager is though a fully managerial position, so whilst you will need a solid technical and understanding, you will also need to have gained experience of managing a team and their workload, together with dealing with performance issues, appraisals and staff development.

The successful Application Support Manager will be educated to degree level, with a solid working with and supporting applications.Experience gained from being a DBA or managing a DBA team would be advantageous.
