Summary:

The Kiosk and Retail Sales Manager will lead Rosetta Stones kiosk and retail strategy for the UK market. They will grow a retail presence in the UK through the development of strategic alliances with existing retailers and through development of new retail partnerships. They will also roll out single branded Rosetta Stone shops and kiosks. This individual will be responsible for building the kiosk and retail programs as well as the support teams to sustain growth. This person will work closely with the Managing Director Europe and others within the UK office to drive growth in these key verticals.  The position will also work closely with various teams in the U.S. to include U.S. Kiosk and Corporate Global Retail Sales and others to confirm best practices are recognized, key takeaways are gained by the entire organization, and all initiatives align with broader branding and marketing strategies.

Organization:

A strong predictor of success for the Manager of Kiosk and Retail sales is a strong understanding of direct retail operations, sales and marketing strategies. This person should have a strong in launching new stores, developing strategic analysis of market data, developing & implementing merchandising strategies, and in developing detailed business case analysis to support to decision making criteria. The successful individual well versed in how to manage and motivate a team, but still dig into details. They should also be excellent at the recruitment and selection of talent. Success in this position will require the ability to roll up one?s sleeves and communicate effectively with managers and team members located in the US and in other European offices/locations (mainly Germany).

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Double kiosk presence in the UK by 2010
  • Develop a comprehensive Kiosk expansive strategy that aligns with the UK growth targets
  • Add three new retailers by end of 2010
  • Grow existing retail partner sales volume by 30%
  • Led and execute a strategic merchandising strategy for all retailers in the UK
  • Open and close outlets on profitability performance
  • Assess and improve current salary and commission structure for the UK sales force
  • Build strong support teams for both kiosk and retail segments
  • Develop communication and organizational processes that can scale with the growth of the business
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics strategy that meets the scalable needs of the business
  • Be a strategic business partner to the MD, Europe; aligning the kiosk and retail growth strategy under the larger UK strategy

 

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7+ years retail sales and operations experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience launching new stores
  • Must be able to analyze complex market and financial data and build a business case
  • Must be a strong people manager, hands-on in the trenches, while maintaining focus on the larger strategic picture
  • Must be a self starter and entrepreneurially minded
  • Highly motivated and thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to interface with various levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to take a hands-on role in leading and managing projects to completion
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and oral. 
  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Experience working as an international subsidiary of a US Corporation, preferred
  • Background in a growth oriented company is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical abilities, initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
  • Must be able to travel outside of London
