Bee inspired Uk is currently recruiting for a professional institute within its head office based in south Leicester.

 

Objective:

 

Managing and leading a team to advise and support branches and groups in order to build their capacity for efficiently and effectively delivering value for their members and for IOSH and continuously improving quality.

 

 

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

 

NETWORK DEVELOPMENT 

 

1.      To work with the NID in developing an overall strategy for the development and promotion of companies networks.

 

2.      To work with members and Networks Officers to develop, and subsequently implement, processes to plan and measure the quality and value of outputs/results for both branches and groups (e.g by setting minimum standards). 

 

3.      To recommend actions and measures to be taken in the event of a Branch/Group underperforming.

 

4.      To and exploit opportunities for joint working within the Networks area, and with other Directorates.

 

5.      To areas where restructuring of the branch/group network would add value and/or improve efficiency. This might involve where new Branches/Groups are needed, and facilitating their establishment, based on evaluation against agreed criteria. It could also involve disestablishment of branches/groups.

 

6.      To and implement innovative ways of improving the value of Branches/Groups to the company and to members.

7.      To support other directorates to develop, where appropriate, productive relationships with branches and groups.

 

8.      To ensure that members are aware of and understand the value and benefits that they can obtain from participating in networks.

 

9.      To carry out periodic Branch/Group audits to training needs for Branch/Group volunteers and develop and implement the required training programme. 

 

10.  To contribute to the Networks Committee to aid continuous improvement.

 

11.  To ensure that governance processes relating to Networks (Branches and Groups) are efficient and effective and review/propose amendments as necessary. 

 

12.  To deliver presentations as necessary.

 

 

COMMUNICATIONS

 

1.      To develop and maintain good relationships with Networks Committee members (branches, groups and standing committee members).

 

2.      To ensure that effective communication channels exist, both with staff and members, particularly relating to the reasons and strategic imperatives for actions being taken.

 

3.      To be aware of all relevant policies, procedures and guidance for Networks and comprehensively guide / advise Networks Officers & members on these. 

 

4.      To ensure that the NaID is kept fully appraised in a timely way of all significant Network?s issues.

 

5.      To ensure that the Networks team works collaboratively with other NaID teams.

 

 

 

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

 

1.      To undertake line management responsibility for the Networks Officers, including budgetary control to the value of £375,000 for Networks Activities.

 

2.      To build and grow an effective Networks team, and encourage team working.

 

3.      To ensure adequate training, support and performance monitoring of the ?team? members taking action as appropriate.          

 

4.      To communicate visions, strategies and new to the team and the wider Networks.

 

5.      To monitor the quality, efficiency and effectiveness and thereby strive for continuous improvement of all Networks activities, providing regular feedback to the NaID, standing committees etc.

 

6.      To manage the implementation of relevant objectives and priorities within IOSH?s corporate strategy and the respective Branch and Groups reviews.

 

7.        To develop and monitor a set KPIs for the Networks team, and produce regular reports on progress against these KPIs for example customer satisfaction of branch and group members, ?reach? of branches/groups.

 

8.        To carry out any other reasonable duties within the remit of the role as directed by the NID.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

1.      GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent, at Grade C or above ? essential

 

2.      ?A? level or equivalent ? desirable.

 

 

3.      Educated to degree level or equivalent - desirable.

 

4.      A health and safety qualification or a willingness to undertake ? essential

 

5.      A full, clean driving licence - preferred.

 

 

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

 

 

1.      To have significant experience in managing, coaching and leading a team ? essential

 

2.      A track record of developing the skills of others - essential

 

3.      A track record of successful relationship management ? essential

 

4.      Experience of development work for example policies, procedures and processes - essential

 

5.      To have experience of delivering excellent customer service ? essential 

 

6.      A track record in managing, delivering and evaluating projects effectively ? essential

 

7.      Events management experience ? essential

 

8.      Experience of working with volunteers, committees or groups or boards - desirable

 

9.      Experience of internal/external collaborative working and partnership development - essential

 

10.  To have experience of working in a professional institution or professional service environment ? desirable

 

11.  To have experience of preparing and working to budgets ? essential

 

12.  To have experience of facilitating organisational change  - essential

 

13.  To have a knowledge of marketing ? desirable

TRAINING


  1. Managing Safely, Working Safely and Manual Handling courses are obligatory for all new employees.
