Senior Production Engineer- Mac OSX, OSX Server, Final Cut Pro, XSan

A leading Central London based Creative Agency is currently searching for Senior Production Engineer to provide Mac and Broadcast support for their team. You will have excellent skills in Mac OSX, Mac OSX Server and Xsan support and a high level of knowledge of Broadcast technologies such as Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Pro Server, video formats and codecs. This is an excellent role in which you will be supporting a friendly team of Creatives in a deadline driven environment.

The role

Overall, the Senior Production Engineer is responsible for the smooth-running and front line support of LAB systems. This includes;

• Ongoing maintenance of production workstations.

• Maintenance and development of XSAN environment.

• Manage backup schedule and daily tape rotations.

• 1st line support for creative professionals using Final Cut Studio, Adobe CS applications, Nuke, various 3D applications.

• Support and maintain machine room video hardware and matrix.

• Help define technical standards within the LAB.

• Manage software rollouts updates and upgrades.

• Manage software licensing and license servers.

• Liaise with third party support partners and vendors.

• Identify and evaluate technical solutions and procedures to improve LAB workflow.

• Clearly communicate technology-related issues to LAB personnel.

• Help plan and implement LAB disaster recovery contingency.

• Create and maintain asset records and technical documentation.

• Understand the operation of technical equipment and the context of its use in production and broadcast activities.

• Project work, delivering to agreed technical, financial and time parameters.?

• Provide technical advice to technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels.?

• Order spares and materials in consultation with the Technical Manager.

• To work flexibly and willingly, responding as required to occasional out of hours.

Technical skills

·Advanced Mac OS X Server

·Advanced Apple XSAN2

·Open/Active Directory integration

·Apple Remote Desktop (remote desktop support)

·Mac hardware (video cards, RAM, hard drives, etc)

·Knowledge and understanding of broadcast/video engineering terms and practices

·Knowledge and understanding of video formats and codecs

·Apple Final Cut Server

·Apple Pro Apps, Adobe CS application 1st line support

·Extensis font servers; Suitcase X1 and Universal Type Server 2
