PRE AND POST SALES IT SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT

Our client is a multinational company looking to recruit an IT Solutions Architect for their new team in Dublin.  

Job Function:        

The Solutions Architect works with large-account clients, clearly describing the features and functionality of the product suite through presentations and product demonstrations, and is responsible for all technical aspects of the sales process including validation of technical proof points, the development of data integration Proof of Concepts, product demonstrations and technical presentations. 

• Pre-sales phase: analysing functional and technical requirements and proposing solutions to satisfy the customers' needs through the integration of products
• Post-sales phase: implementing the proposed solutions.

Job Responsibilities:                  

• Responsible for analysing sales prospects' requirements and retrieve all technical information necessary for solutions implementation
• Draft functional and technical specifications for the solutions
• Present and prototype the solutions
• Identify project resource requirements and required skills for project success
• Participate in the implementation of integrations projects
• Provide product support analysis and resolution of problems
• Collaborate and respond to the technical sections of RFI/RFPs
• Arange product training for customers
• Take technical responsibility for nominated customer accounts
• Grow consulting and develop revenue through additional service during consulting assignments by finding new opportunities
• Provide feedback to Product Management / Engineering on product roadmap.

Person Specification        

Qualifications & Experience:  

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Science or in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 6 years experience in system integration and consulting
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a lead architect of enterprise application/product implementations

Technical Skills:  

• Experience with application development and system architecture design.
• Working knowledge of Unix and Linux (IBM,HP,Sun) and Windows.
• Expertise with object oriented programming languages such as Java and C++.
• Deep knowledge of Java programming (Servlets, JSP, EJB, JDBC, Swing); Java certification is a definite plus.
• Experience in XML, XML parsers, and XSL.
• Knowledge of DB2 and Oracle databases
• Experience delivering enterprise solution implementations
• Experience working with complementary products: IBM Websphere suite, BEA Weblogic, TIBCO, any other JMS compliant queues.

Skills & Competencies:       

• Demonstrated ability to develop a high level of expertise in System Integration solutions, including Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Business Process Management (BPM), Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) and/or Business-to-Business Integration (B2B).
• Must have the ability to clearly and succinctly describe both the business and technical advantages of the proposed solution.
• Strong personality act to build a long term relation with customers
• Good ability to manage client expectation and have the ability to ensure high satisfaction of the client
• Strong problem solving skills with proven ability to learn from others
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing
• Proactive service attitude that can look beyond a strict process/priority matrix.

• Experience managing relationships with clients at the senior technical management level.
• Availability to travel within Europe
• Working experience in European language advantage.
