Andy Duncan joined Channel 4 in July 2004 from the BBC where he served as director of marketing, communications and audiences. Before that he worked his way up through the ranks of Unilever.
At the helm of Channel 4 he is a strong position to impact the face of British broadcasting - especially with the publicly-owned broadcaster being linked with a merger with independent rival channel 5.
Channel 4 has been an innovator with its interactive services and premium content and his place in this top 50 list suggests there is more to come during his time in charge.
