UK virtual network operator Sirocom has signed a distribution deal with The Cloud and iPass to provide access to a further 7,800 wi-fi hotspots across Europe for users of its Siroconnect remote connectivity service.
The deal ensures Sirocom can offer coverage at more than 50,000 hotspots worldwide.
Simon Rogan, CEO of Sirocom, said the deal is vital in ensuring customers expectations of always-on connectivity are met as business users become more mobile and more reliant upon wireless internet access.
The Cloud now covers major hubs of business travel activity across Europe, including all major UK airports, many hotels and conference centres as well as large built-up urban areas such as Canary Wharf.
Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester and the City of London will also enjoy the launch of ubiquitous wi-fi later this year.
George Polk, CEO of The Cloud, said increased mobility goes hand in hand with increased productivity and efficiency, and claimed the Sirocom deal is further proof the business community now understands the need to "embrace mobile and wireless technologies".
