NEWS After months of speculation Microsoft has announced Office 2000. The successor to Office 97 features extensive Web-enabling functionality using HTML as a companion file format. It also has an option that enables customers to install only the functions they need. The software giant said that most applications will remain unchanged, with the exception of Microsoft Access, which will incorporate Unicode support. The first beta test will be carried out this summer and the final product is expected to ship in early 1999.
