In brief: AOL announces online banking deal

NEWS America Online has announced a $75m deal with online brokerages for its personal banking channel. DLJdirect, E*Trade and Waterhouse Securities will each pay AOL $12.5m annually for the two year cross-marketing agreement. AOL said the move was driven by the growing demand for online personal finance services - trading through its brokerage centre has increased by 321 per cent over the last year.
