NEWS Guardian Royal Exchange (GRE) has started to integrate the IT departments of recently acquired PPP Healthcare and existing subsidiaries, Guardian Healthcare and Medical Industrial Services (MIS).
The first move was to rationalise executive positions by telling PPP Healthcare IT Director, Malcolm Lambell, to leave after working out three months notice. Lambell said: "My job was devalued. There was no reason for the company to have three IT directors."
The stated end goal of the company is to completely integrate the three firms. GRE acquired PPP Healthcare in February and MIS in May.
A GRE spokesman said: "The integration process is going on throughout the subsidiaries. All the functions in each of the companies is currently going through the process of establishing what is required and what is not."
The company has not yet given any details about whether the rationalisation will extend to the rest of the IT departments at this point, but a source close to the situation said the PPP Healthcare IT department is bracing itself for further changes.
