NEWS Oracle is planning a major assault on SAP's market leading position in enterprise business applications. The database and services company is to increase investment by doubling the size of its applications sales force, expanding sales efforts and increasing its presence in international and telecommunications markets. The announcement follows the recent appointment of former SAP executive VP, Peter Dunning, to head up Oracle's industrials, verticals and major account application sales.
