NEWS Torex Medical - a UK supplier of clinical systems - has taken over its rival, Hollowbrook, giving it 15 per cent coverage of the GP market. The deal was completed last night. Torex's director of mergers and acquisitions, Rob Loosemore, said that the future of Hollowbrook's Eureka software now hangs in the balance. Speaking exclusively to Silicon.com, he said: "Both Torex Medical and Hollowbrook have recently developed a Windows NT product for the same market. We are considering our options - whether to carry on supporting Hollowbrook's Eureka or to use our Premier product as an upgrade path to customers." Loosemore said the development paths of the two products will eventually merge, and he is keen not to lose the massive revenues from the support services of Hollowbrook's existing customers.
